Blog EntryOur weather is crap!Feb 19, '08 7:04 PM
for everyone

Woke up yesterday to 50 degrees and rain. Where most people would love that after an awful winter, we did not! Why? You ask? Because after being in the single digits and snowing the whole weekend, I may have woken up to warmer weather, but also to a solid sheet of ice.

I had to carry a bag of  snow melt and throw it in front of me all the way to the barn to get there without falling on my behind.

Well, I've added a video I took today of my oldest sin ice skating on our driveway so y;all could see it.

I'm sure spring isn't too far away.....I've heard some spring birds out there somewhere.

We've had a roller coaster ride for temps here too. Not good for the critters. Just think Marla, spring is only three months away for you!! Of course summer will really kick in in July for a couple weeks.
Tell me, which is worse the no-see'ems or the snow & cold?

no-see-ums are the worst! I'd rather have 10 foot of snow and blowing winds than those dang things. And summer is in August for about a week...lol

ROTFLMAO Glad to know winter has not gotten you down. I was eating dinner on the wharf in Portsmouth one evening and a mosquito hit my wrist and knocked the fork out of my hand!! Then to make matters worse, it bit me and I contracted a fungus that took a year to go away(with meds) I'd take summer in hell rather than NH.

Boy, I think I am happy to be in Indiana!!! Our mosquitos, while not controllable, aren't killers, nor do they qualify to be the State Bird as in MN! Our snows are enough to remind us how great spring and summer are and our summers make us appreciate fall and winter! Have a brother in Seattle who dearly misses thunderstorms and the turning of the leaves.

I miss seeing the maple trees in the fall. Not many around our part of the country unless someone planted them.
BTW, Ann, The calendars for the Stiff Competition Calendar is coming along pretty good at this point.
